The data is much better than the USD's reaction – UBS

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The UBS analyst team commented that solid US data and lower-than-expected Japan CPI should have lifted the USD/JPY but it didn't. However, they think next week's data will.

Key Quotes

"US data on Tuesday showed a clear improvement on the University of Michigan consumer sentiment for April, which should have lifted the USD versus the Euro and the JPY".

"In Japan consumer price inflation came slightly lower than the market expected and did not signal that the BoJ will easily achieve its inflation target. Also this should have lifted USD/JPY".

"With important data being scheduled next week we see the potential for a stronger USD is building".
