PBOC injects CNY 275.5bn in first-ever Targeted MLF operation

People's Bank of China (PBOC) issued a statement on Wednesday, announcing that it injected CNY 257.5bn via 1-year 'targeted' Medium Term Lending Facility (TMLF) at 3.15%.

It’s worth noting that the Chinese central bank introduced the tool into their arsenal in December last year and used for the first time today. This comes ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year starting Feb 4^th.
