EUR/USD Technical Analysis: The pair remains under pressure. Rebound needs to surpass 1.1400 near term

  • EUR/USD sold off and recorded fresh 2019 lows in the 1.1290/85 band following the ECB event on Thursday.
  • The subsequent rebound has retaken the 1.1300 barrier and beyond so far, although a more serious bullish attempt should need to clear the 1.1400 neighbourhood, where sit recent tops. This hurdle is reinforced by the proximity of the key 55-day SMA at 1.1375.
  • On the broader look, the bearish note in spot stays unchanged while below the short-term resistance line, today at 1.1536.
