Irish PM Varadkar: EU not offering a renegotiating of deal

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar recently crossed the wires saying that the EU was not offering a renegotiation of the withdrawal agreement. "I don’t believe backstop alternative arrangements exist," Varadkar said, contradicting the comments of British Prime Minister Theresa May spokesman who earlier said that the PM was planning to offer three alternative arrangements.

"There are no plans to organise an emergency EU summit to discuss changes to the guidelines," Varadkar further added.
