Ukraine crisis goes from bad to worse

FXStreet (Bali) - The crisis in Ukraine continues to escalate, with the latest reports hitting the wires over the weekend suggesting that the central government is finding it hard to maintain order in a country that remains split between those supporting the national interest and the rebellious pro-Russian supporters.

As Roman Olearchyk and John Reed from the Financial Times note: "The Ukrainian government was struggling to maintain law and order in the south and east of the country on Sunday after furious demonstrators sought retribution for 42 mostly pro-Russian sympathisers killed in Odessa on Friday."

The FT reporters added that "the Ukraine’s government reported some progress in its anti-separatist military campaign at the weekend." However, "in central Donetsk, the main city in eastern Ukraine, armed men were seen roaming the streets in a further sign of spreading lawlessness", the Reporters at the newspaper said.

Germany has urged to organize another international conference to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing crisis.
