Breaking: 4.4 million Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week

There were 4,427,000 Initial Claims for unemployment benefits in the US during the week ending April 18th, the data published by the US Department of Labor (DOL) revealed on Thursday.

With this reading, the total number of Initial Jobless Claims in the last five weeks surpassed 26 million.
