ECB's Linde: Eurozone CPI to remain far from 2% target
FXStreet (Łódź) - Bank of Spain head and ECB Governing Council member Luis María Linde said on Tuesday that Eurozone inflation would remain far from the central bank's 2% target for some more time and that a possibility of deflation existed.
Therefore, rates would be kept low for an extended period of time and the ECB would continue developing the asset backed security purchase program.
As far as Spain is concerned, Linde suggested that recent economic data signaled a positive trend, an improvement in the outlook.
He added that the Bank of Spain would start releasing a quarterly economic forecast and that this month the forecasts would be updated.
