Wall Street mostly negative despite upbeat earnings reports
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mixed but overall negative on Tuesday as investors digested Fed's concern on the valuations of small-caps and high-flying names.
The central bank affirmed small-caps valuation might be "stretched" and the Nasdaq was hurt.
The Dow Jones rose 5.26 pts or 0.03% to finish at 17,060.68; The S&P 500 eased 3.82 pts or 3.82% to close at 1,973.28; while the Nasdaq Composite lost 24.03 pts or 0.54% to 4,416.39.
