ECB: Stress test results due out in late October

FXStreet (Łódź) - The European Central Bank announced on Thursday that the preliminary results of Eurozone stress tests will be available to banks in September/October this year while the final outcome will be made public towards the end of October.

Banks with capital shortfalls would be required to present plans of dealing with them just two weeks after the publication of the results, the central bank informed, adding that the general expectation is that the lenders will make up for the shortfalls using equity capital.

Other details of the comprehensive assessment revealed by the ECB today include the fact that results will take account of equity raising since end of 2013 and will show the breakdown of non-performing loans.
