ECB’s Holzmann: If economic conditions remain favorable, the PEPP will have to expire next year
“We see that the economic effects are getting smaller with each wave,” said the European Centra Bank (ECB) policymaker Robert Holzmann said in the regional media on Friday.
“A wave will probably come, but its economic effects will be weaker than those of the third, mainly because of the vaccinations,” per the Austrian central banker.
It’s worth noting that the European Central Bank (ECB) has already signaled a “recalibration” of the Pandemic Emergency Purchase Program (PEPP) program the previous day.
Following the news, EUR/USD eased from the intraday high of 1.1835 but stays positive for the second consecutive day.
