US: NY Empire State Manufacturing Index slumps to -0.70 in January vs. expected drop to 25.70

The headline General Business Conditions Index of the NY Fed's Empire State Manufacturing Survey slid to -0.70 in January, from December's 31.90 reading. That was much larger than the expected drop to 25.70.
