EU to send experts to help fight youth unemployment in Spain
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - European Commission president José Manuel Durao Barroso said today that teams of specialists would be sent to Spain and other EU countries with high youth unemployment. Their aim would be to prepare a plan to boost employment, which Spain needs to present in order to obtain the 1.9 billion euro aid approved last week.
Barroso affirmed during a speech at a European Parliament plenary session that the „action teams will be sent to help countries prepare their youth employment projects and implement the youth guarantee scheme.”
Furthermore, the European Commission president expressed satisfaction with the quick launching of the 6 billion euro fund aimed at combating youth unemployment and with the fact that its disbursement would take place over 2014-2015 rather than being spread over the next seven-year budgetary period.
The projects are to be submitted before the end of this year in order to be implemented at the beginning of 2014.
