We Can Be A Bridge Between EU And Russia - Tsipras
FXStreet (Mumbai) - During his meeting with Cypriot President Anastasiades, the new Greek premier Tsipras, , stated that Greece and Cyprus could take over the role of mediators in the conflict between Russia and the West, currently rendered dysfunctional by the disputes over Ukraine.

Tsipras also said "it was not by chance" his first official visit as head of the Greek government was to Cyprus, and highlighted the historic ties between the two countries.
Speaking to Cypriot leaders, Tsipras also said that Europe should adopt development rather than austerity.
"The people of Greece and Cyprus have made unfair sacrifices due to the imposition of failed austerity packages."
