Wall Street rallies amid uraine fears ease; S&P closes at record high

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The Dow and the S&P performed its best day in the year in Wall Street as investors fears on Ukraine crisses eased on Tuesday. The S&P closed at record high in an spectacular come-back from Monday drop.

The DJIA rallied 227.85 points or 1.41% to close the day at 16,395.88; the S&P 500 climbed 28.18 pts or 1.53% to finish at 1,873.91; while the Nasdaq Composite jumped 74.67 pts or 1.75% to end the session at 4,351.97.

Shaun Osbourne, Chief FX Strategist at TD Securities said, "" Easing geo-political tensions cut both ways for the CAD in a sense—oil and gold prices are lower but risk appetite has recovered—leaving the market still searching for a stronger sense of direction. The mood feels more consolidative ahead of the BoC policy meeting tomorrow."
